Aviation Park & Pavilion
NOW OPEN

The Chennault Aviation and Military Museum has opened an outdoor pavilion, display, and park showcasing seven restored military aircraft and more to tell our incredible story of aviation history and heritage. The Chennault Aviation Park will soon offer visitors a modern-day out-door facility with paved walk ways, covered pavilions, and restored military aircraft.

TO BE RESTORED

DC-3: The DC-3 aircraft was a mainstay aerial transport for the British and American forces during WWII, used as troop transport, glider towing, and as a general-purpose freighter key to Allied victory in WWII. It was also pride of the fleet in the early days of Delta Airlines.

MR-18 Light Bomber:

During his WWII service in China, Gen. Claire Chennault used aircraft like this as a transport and light bomber.

P-40 Warhawk:

The pavilion features a three quarter scale traveling model of the instantly recognizable P-40 Warhawk fighter making vivid the

inventive brilliance of a pioneer of aviation and preserving our nation's legacy of heroism and daring from generations to come.

A-7B Corsair II:

This Navy warbird flew off the USS Midway against known targets in North and South Vietnam

F-86 Sabre:

Considered one of the best and most important fighter aircraft in the Korean War, the F-86 is also rated highly in comparison with fighters of others eras. Various models of the Sabre held world speed records for six consecutive years, setting five official records.

MiG-15:

The world's first swept-wing jet fighter debuted during the Korean War, becoming the standard fighter plane of the air forces in the Communist Bloc for decades.

OH-6 Cayuse (Loach):

A light observation helicopter used in the Vietnam War for low-level observation and scouting enemy positions.
